«Acústicas del litoral de Barcelona. Una aproximación etnográfica al espacio sonoro urbano» (Acoustics of Barcelona’s Coastline: An Ethnographic Approach to Urban Sound Space) investigated the relationship between sound, public space, and urban renewal in contemporary Barcelona. Conducted between 2007 and 2010, the project brought together an interdisciplinary team from the Ciudad Sonora research group: social psychologist Noel García, geographer Claire Guiu, anthropologists Sandra Anitua, Miguel Alonso, and Ana Juan Cantavella, and ethnomusicologist Iñigo Sánchez. The sound art collective Orquesta del Caos collaborated as a project partner. The Department of Culture of the Catalan Government funded this initiative through the Inventari del Patrimoni Etnològic de Catalunya grants.
